In Winter Haven, nurseries are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Florida, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Check the listing for hours, seasonal closures and Google rating before you go.

What a beautiful nursery with a huge variety of tropic and medicinal plants. Gabby was extraordinarily helpful. She was also patient with my children and all of our questions. Highly recommend! We will be coming again!

I ordered several plants from Sow Exotic Nursery. All plants arrived well packed, and I appreciate the care taken with packaging. Overall, the plants are healthy, but I was expecting more established plants based on how they are presented. Several plants were quite small, and one (lolot) arrived yellow and very stressed, looking close to dying. The artemisia was also very thin and small. The blueberries look healthy but smaller than expected, while the pink blueberry arrived in good condition and looks healthy. The red tomato plants were small, and one arrived drooping. I hope the plants recover well with time and grow stronger as they establish. Note: small plants (medium coconut pot) $19.95, x-large coconut pot (blueberry pink) $74.95

I’ve purchased two trees from these guys; Kwai muk and Marcus pumpkin avocado, and I’ve been quite impressed! They have detailed instructions once you receive your tree to make sure that it transitions properly. Quick shipping, I live in Arizona, and each tree has only too 2-3 days to arrive. Packaging is excellent, and you can tell the care and love for their craft. Have an issue? They promptly respond, and try to rectify the situation. Highly recommended!

I just received my three plants that were ordered. I've never seen such awesome packaging that ensured my plants would arrive in great shape. My order was shipped and received quickly!! The plants look great and are a present for my grandson. He will be thrilled. Thank you Sow Exotic for everything. I'm sure I'll be purchasing more plants from them.

What a great nursery to do business with! For several years and across three homes I have purchased multiple plants, mostly fruit plants, from the professional and friendly folks at SowExotic. I have two guava trees that are now approaching year three (Barbie Pink and Ruby Supreme) that yield amazing fruit and from which I make Guava preserves and marmalade for my family and friends. I’m a year into growing a Donny Avocado and now adding an Orange variety which goes in the ground today I find the pricing, service, and most importantly, quality of the plants from this nursery a notch above. This is a small business worthy of support. Keep up the great work!
